Allen’s classic shunting puzzle, TimeSaver, is finally
brought to life
by B & R Model Railways.
The Game
Oh
no! Someone has left the goods yard in a mess! Your
job is to jump in the loco and get the wagons back to their correct
locations as quickly as possible.
Place
one wagon on each siding of the layout and the loco in the centre as
shown. It doesn’t matter which wagon goes
in which siding.
And in the
quickest time possible, shunt the wagons into their correct positions!
TimeSaver is the perfect start for somebody thinking of entering the fascinating world of model railways, and would make an ideal gift. Although not intended as a child’s toy, a child could operate under adult supervision and would learn a lot about railways in the process.
The layout is easily
expandable, baseboards can be joined to the ends and either Hornby or
Peco HO/OO track can be connected. Holes are drilled under the points
to enable point motors to be easily added.

When
you purchase your TimeSaver you will receive the following:
- A fully constructed 4ft x 1ft baseboard painted green with track mounted on underlay and ballasted;
- A Hornby Class 08 Shunter in BR Red with 4 open wagons and a box van (please note rolling stock may vary subject to availability);
- A Bachmann controller and power supply with a simple jack plug connection to track;
- Five cards, corresponding to the five wagons;
- Five buffer stops; and
- An uncoupler rod.
