"Just to say how very pleased I am with the baseboard construction etc you did for me. It really has changed my whole outlook on railway modelling and opened up the possibility of doing scenic work etc which was never sensible with a smaller layout. I am now researching wiring etc and having a great time."

As was Mr Webber, who's layout featured split levels and a section of track that disappeared behind a backscene.  This kind of arrangement can only be built on site.

With our build on site service, our workshop comes to you.  We will need space to work, such as a driveway or area of garden, or we could work in the area where the boards are to be set up.

Baseboards
Kydmoor Road - David Mitchell
In November 2007 David purchased a modified version of one of our standard N Gauge Ready to Run layouts.  In March 2008 we received these great photos....

Oakdale - John Pook
In April 2010 John purchased an N gauge layout from us, and he was obviously hard at work as in November 2010 we received these fantastic pictures illustrating Oakdale, a Devon branch terminus.

Tarroch - Steve Brett
Steve let us know that he finally managed to finish decorating the spare room, and set up the baseboard extension which we built for him.  He sent us these great photos of his N gauge layout 'Tarroch', a fictional location in Scotland.

St Asaph - Emlyn Attree Williams
This great little N gauge circular layout demonstrates just what can be achieved in a relatively small space.  The layout is 28'' x 46'', for which B & R provided the baseboard and laid the track.  Emlyn advises that if he had known that he was going to be moving when he initially ordered then he might have used a larger baseboard, as he  enjoyed developing the scenic elements of the layout as much as running the trains.   All buildings were made from Metcalfe card kits (www.metcalfemodels.com) and landscaping was created using various foliages.

Dalefield - Ray Ash
In March 2012 we provided Ray with an 8ft x 18'' layout with track laid and ballasted, and he has successfully brought the layout to life with some wonderful scenary.  The layout is called Dalefield, and comes entirely from a place 'within his imagination'.  It was built more for the scenic possibilities more than anything else and he reports that he had a great time doing it.

The Little Guy's Adventure Layout - Ron Lee
In October 2012 Ron collected two 42'' square baseboards from us which were joined to form an 84'' x 42'' board.  He then managed to get the following layout ready for his five year old grandson to play with at Christmas.  Ron reports that his grandson very much enjoyed operating the trains and driving his cars and trucks around on the layout, but he added that a layout for kids needs to be robust!
