A
well finished, solid baseboard is the essential starting point for
model railway construction.
Our
standard boards are constructed on a 44mm x 21mm soft wood frame with
cross members to provide support behind. They are surfaced
with 9mm plywood which can either be painted green for a rural setting,
or grey for an urban layout. The cross members are slotted to allow
wires to run adjacent to the board.
Please note, to avoid material wastage baseboard sizes quoted are
nominal (typically to a tolerance of up to 5mm). If the
dimensions of the baseboards are critical, please let us know when
placing your order.

There
are two ways to order;

delivered to your door, you can use the

and quantity of boards, and then add the number of legs required using
the button further down the page. All

include packaging and mainland UK delivery.

Timescales
We aim to deliver standard baseboard
orders within four weeks, and will try to get them delivered as soon as
possible.

To
place your order, first choose your board sizes from the table below.
The price guide below is for boards up to the maximum size
quoted,
however, as all boards are made to order, any size below the maximum
can be specified. For
example, if you would like a 6' x 2'6'' board, select the 6' x 3' board
option and then enter 6' x 2'6'' into the Exact Size
field. Don't forget to choose your board colour for each
board.

We
are
happy to align and fix multiple boards into any configuration
at
no
extra cost, and will provide
fixings so that they can be joined
together using a standard M4 allen key
.
For multiple board orders please email us with a description
of
how you would like the boards joined. For complicated
configurations please send us a sketch.
Baseboard
Legs
The
baseboard legs we provide are
white tubular steel legs with
plastic adjustable feet. They are 800mm high and each leg
is screwed to the baseboard frame with four wood screws. Holes
will be pre-drilled for attaching the legs.
Stand alone
boards which are up to four feet long require four supporting
legs, whilst
boards over four feet long require six legs.
Multiple board
configurations often require fewer legs per board, as you don't need
legs on both sides of a board join. You can order legs using
the button below. If you would like to discuss the number of
legs needed, please feel free to contact us, or send us a sketch.

Baseboard legs - £8 each
Trestles
As
an alternative to board legs, we can make custom built trestles.
This option is more suitable for those who wish to remove the
legs regularly. The boards simply rest upon the trestles and
do not need to be physically attached. One trestle
effectively
substitutes for two board legs.
Our high quality
timber trestles can be made to any height. Trestles can be
ordered using the button below. The quantity can be changed
in the Paypal screen.

Hornby Set
The
6' x 4' baseboard, which can be order from the table above, is a
very popular size as it can accommodate standard Hornby sets.
However, if access is an issue, you may want to consider
buying the board in two 4' x 3' halves, with the boards joined along
one 4' edge. To order this you can use the button below.
Please note, this set would require six standard legs or three trestles
for adequate support, which can be added to the order using the buttons above.

To save on delivery and packaging costs, you can collect your order
from our workshop
in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Just email us and we will
provide a
discounted quotation. We will advise when your order is ready
