A well finished, solid baseboard is the essential starting point for model railway construction. Our standard boards are constructed on a 2'' x 1'' soft wood frame with cross members to provide support behind.  They are surfaced with 9mm plywood painted green. The cross members are slotted to allow wires to run adjacent to the board.

Multiple boards can be aligned and bolted in any configuration using hex screws which are fixed with an allen key.

Please note, to avoid material wastage baseboard sizes quoted are nominal (typically to a tolerance of up to 5mm).  If the dimensions of the baseboards are critical, please let us know when placing your order.

Our baseboards are available with or without white tubular steel legs with plastic adjustable feet. They are 800mm high and each leg is screwed to the baseboard frame with four wood screws.  We recommend the boards are supported at least every four feet along their length, therefore a five foot long stand alone board would require six legs.

Timescales
